Greater Good Staff Award

Formerly known as the O'Neill Traveling Trophy, the new and improved Greater Good Award recognizes recent contributions to the O’Neill community that reflect our mission and values and foster a positive workplace culture. Consideration for the award is nomination-based and encourages staff to recognize and celebrate the exemplary work of their colleagues. Winners are selected quarterly and receive a $500 award in appreciation of their service.

Eligibility

  • Any full-time staff at O’Neill can be nominated (with the exception of Directors).
  • Directors are not eligible to win but are encouraged to submit nominations.
  • Those nominated in the past can be re-nominated any number of times.
  • The same staff member cannot win more than once per academic year.

Nomination Process

All are welcome to submit nominations in and outside of their departments. For example, a staff member in the Finance office can nominate a staff member in the Career Hub.

To nominate, submit a concise explanation describing why the staff member should receive the award. Please include recent examples (within the last quarter) of the employee's exemplary work and contributions.

Submission Deadlines

Nominations are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the academic year and winners are selected quarterly. The closing month of award cycles are listed below and exact deadlines to submit a nomination will be announced via email each quarter.

  • June (Q4)
