Experiential Requirement

Learn lessons from the real world while putting your knowledge to work

While you’re in the MPA Program, your education will take you far beyond classrooms and labs. No matter which concentration you choose, you’ll also have an experiential requirement that will give you professionally relevant experience.

You can add this real-world dimension:

  • Through an approved internship—you can even explore the world while building your credentials with our Global Leadership Program
  • By demonstrating prior professional experience or volunteer services such as the Peace Corps, AmeriCorps, or Teach for America
  • By participating in an independent or group research project

Summer is the hottest time to learn on the job

Most MPA students opt for a career boosting internship during the summer. The O’Neill School’s Career Hub is here to help you through the internship process.
