We honor our outstanding alumni

We are proud to recognize our O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs graduates who have distinguished themselves in their careers and who serve as accomplished role models for today’s O’Neill School students and the greater community as leaders for the greater good with a variety of awards, including the Distinguished Alumni Award.

Ami Tully Lotka, BSPA’82

Ami Tully Lotka started her career selling municipal bonds, going on to found Maximum Impact Partners with her husband, John. They provide sales and marketing consulting for financial services companies in North America and Southeast Asia. She holds the Certified Financial Planner and Certified Investment Management Analyst designations and was a founder and first president of the 1,700+ member Women in Pensions Network. Tully Lotka is a mentor to business executives in the Menttium 100 program and an avid community volunteer in Phoenix, Ariz. She is passionate about mentoring, bringing more women into the finance sector, and Indiana University.

Claudia Cummings, MPA’94

Claudia Cummings is the president and CEO of the Indiana Philanthropy Alliance. Previously, she served as vice president of strategic development at Conexus Indiana and has worked in leadership positions for the mayor of Indianapolis, speaker of the Indiana House, Marion County clerk, and U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Indiana. She serves on the boards of the Sagamore Institute and Goodwill Education Initiatives. At the O’Neill School, she serves on the Distinguished Alumni Council (which she chaired from 2019 to 2020), the board of advisors for the Public Policy Institute, and is involved with the Women’s Summit and mentoring students.

Undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral alumni are eligible for this award—the most honorable alumni distinction bestowed by the O’Neill School. Nominations are accepted on a rolling basis. Award winners are annually selected in early spring.
