Philanthropic support helps the O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs go from good to great. Tuition and state funding make the classroom experience possible, but our community of donors help expose students to outside speakers who are leaders in their fields, offer students opportunities to attend conferences valuable for their professional networking, make the educational experience affordable for students of all backgrounds, and so much more.

O’Neill Excellence Fellowships

Support graduate fellowships for O'Neill students.

Greater Good Internship Fund

Support undergraduate and graduate students pursuing unpaid or minimally paid internships during their time at the O'Neill School.

Donna McLean Washington Leadership Program Scholarship

Support this endowment for scholarships for O'Neill undergraduate students from the Bloomington campus who are participating in the Washington Leadership Program and have demonstrated financial need.

Students for Equity in Public Affairs Equity and Inclusion Scholarship

Support annual scholarships for juniors, seniors, and master's students within the O'Neill School who are members of Students for Equity in Public Affairs (SEPA) and demonstrate activism, research, and experience in diversity, equity, and inclusion work.

Jennifer Rice Memorial Intern Scholarship

Support O'Neill students participating in internships outside the state of Indiana at public, private, and nonprofit organizations.

Neil Nielsen Scholarship Fund

Assist students attending the annual International City/County Management Association Conference and other conferences. Gifts also support annual scholarships and awards for students of Urban Management who embody Nielsen's commitment to professionalism in local government.

Scott Chilcote Scholarship

Support undergraduate students, graduate MSES or joint MPA/MSES students who have demonstrated leadership potential and dedication to the environment, O'Neill, and Indiana University.

O’Neill Environmental Science Graduate Scholarship

Support scholarships for graduate students pursuing a Master of Science or Ph.D. in Environmental Science.

Cheryl Hartung Memorial Book Scholarship

Support scholarships to purchase books for outstanding students at the O'Neill School. Special consideration will be given to underrepresented populations, with preference given to females.

IUB O'Neill Study Abroad Scholarship

Support scholarships for undergraduate and graduate O'Neill students who are participating in a study abroad program.

Philip J. Rutledge Fellows Program

Support this endowment for fellowships for O'Neill students from traditionally underrepresented groups wishing to pursue a Master and/or Doctoral degree on the Bloomington, IU Northwest, and IUPUI campuses.

James E. Suelflow Fellowship

Support this endowment for fellowships to promising arts administration students in need of financial assistance.

John W. Ryan Fellows Program

Support this endowment for graduate fellowships to recruit and support exceptional MPA and/or MSES students with a record of academic excellence and willingness to serve Indiana through working with a state or local government or nonprofit institution during their course of study.

Jonathan P. Mack Public Administration Scholarship

Support this endowment for undergraduate students with career aspirations in public administration.

Scholarship for Excellence in Public Affairs Writing

Support this endowment for undergraduate scholarships for students in the Civic Leaders Learning Center who submit the best class paper on a topic related to public affairs.

SPEA Diversity Scholarship (O'Neill)

Support this endowment for undergraduate and graduate scholarships for O'Neill School students on both the Bloomington and IUPUI campuses who are first-generation students, international students, or from underrepresented populations.

Congressman James P. Jontz Scholarship for Environmental Advocacy

Support this endowment for undergraduate students with a minimum GPA of 3.2, financial need, and demonstrated commitment to the public policies, and personal actions toward global environment protection.

O'Neill Alumni Association Scholarship (SPEA)

Support undergraduate and graduate scholarships for O'Neill School students on both the Bloomington and IUPUI campuses.

Civic Leaders Living-Learning Center Fund

Provide general support to the Civic Leaders Living-Learning Center which provides educational and enrichment opportunities and activities for O'Neill students, including an annual trip to Washington, D.C.

Master of Public Affairs Program Fund

Provide general support to the Master of Public Affairs Program in the O'Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs.

O’Neill Capstone Support Fund

Support the Capstone project and classes in the O'Neill School, which can include travel and other expenses related to Capstone client work.

O’Neill Healthcare Management Program Fund

Provide general support of the Master of Science in Healthcare Management program, including scholarships.

O’Neill Next Generation Leadership Program Fund

Provide general support of the Next Generation Leadership Program, including scholarships.

Student Programs

Support general student programs at the School, including leadership programs, orientation, honors day, and other programming needs.

Arts Administration Program General Fund

Provide general support of the Arts Administration Program, including scholarships.

Washington Leadership Program Fund (Bloomington)

Support the Washignton Leadership Program at the O'Neill School, which includes educational and enrichment activities and scholarships for undergraduate students participating in the Washington Leadership Program in Washington, D.C.

Nonprofit Leadership Alliance Erika Albert and Heather Mooney Fund

Support the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance Program and the professional development of its students through conferences, workshops, speaker visits, and general support.

IU Bloomington Debate Team

Support general expenses of the IU Debate Team, including travel expenses and scholarships.

O’Neill Greatest Need Fund

Provide general support of the O'Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs.

Integrated Program in the Environment Fund

Provide general support for the Integrated Program in the Environment at the O'Neill School which strives to bridge the study of sustainability and the environment with the arts, humanities, social sciences, and the physical and life sciences.

Paul H. O’Neill Graduate Center Fund

Provide general support for the Paul H. O’Neill Graduate Center.

Social Entrepreneurship Certificate Program Fund

Advance activities related to students pursuing the Social Entrepreneurship Certificate.

O'Neill Manufacturing Policy Initiative Fund

Support the Manufacturing Policy Initiative through general support such as workshops and research.

IU Campus Farm Fund

Provide general support for the Campus Farm in Bloomington.

Center for Cultural Affairs Fund

Provide general support for the Center for Cultural Affairs, including student scholarships.

Photo-Bioreactor Living Laboratory Fund

Provide general support of the "Photo-Bioreactor Living Laboratory" within the O'Neill School.

O'Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs Women's Fund

Support women's initiatives and programs within the O'Neill School, including but not limited to expenses related to the Women's Summit, workshops, conferences, outside speakers, networking opportunities, mentoring between attendees, and webinars.

Indiana University Nature Preserve Fund

Provide general support of the Indiana University Nature Preserve.
