The Inaugural Fischer Fellow Announced

Adam Ward, center, with Burnie Fischer and his wife.
Burnell and Barbara Fischer saw a need to provide crucial research support to tenure-track junior faculty at the O’Neill School. The Fischer Faculty Fellowship Program's goal is to enable researchers to build momentum early in their academic careers with resources to pursue research agendas and publishing opportunities. The three-year award provides annual financial support and course teaching releases.
Adam Ward has been named the inaugural Fischer Fellow. Ward joined O’Neill in the fall of 2014. He is a hydrologist studying the transport of water through natural and human-impacted landscapes. With a scientific objective of improving predictive understanding of fundamental processes in the river corridor, the Fellowship will help Ward move forward with integrating social sciences with his existing, primarily natural resources research program. Ward plans to "study the interactions of humans with their water sources."
