For Incoming Students

The O’Neill School offers select scholarship opportunities to our incoming students

College is an investment, but we feel strongly that it should also be affordable. To help, we offer a variety of scholarships for motivated incoming students.

To be eligible for these scholarships, you must have been offered direct admission into O’Neill. Submit a complete Admisssions application by November 1 to be eligible for the Selective Scholarship Application. Award recipients will have demonstrated strong high school academic performance, made a positive impact on their communities, and have an intended major in the O'Neill School.

The O'Neill Scholars Award is an award that recognizes both accomplishment and potential as a high-achieving student who is ready to lead for the greater good in public and environmental affairs. Students who are recipients of this award will have demonstrated academic excellence. Recipients will receive $9,000 per year for up to four years.

The Boch Family Scholarship provides undergraduate scholarships for incoming freshmen in the O'Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs who have a record of academic excellence and financial need.

The Academic Leadership Award is offered to high-achieving students who are ready to make an impact and become leaders in the field of public and environmental affairs. Recipients will have demonstrated academic excellence as well as financial need.

The Civic Leaders Center (CLC), a living learning community, is a staple of the O’Neill experience. Some of the most engaged students in O’Neill will live here during their first year at IU. The Civic Scholars Award, given to O’Neill ’s highest achieving students, many of which come from diverse backgrounds, and provides automatic placement in this unique community.

The Indiana Leadership Award is offered to high-achieving in-state students who are incoming freshmen and provides priority admission into the Indiana Leadership Program, a valuable internship program through O'Neill's Undergraduate Programs Office. Recipients will have demonstrated academic excellence as well as financial need.
