Biography
Steve Lucas joined O’Neill in 2022 as an adjunct professor for communications. Lucas spent more than a decade in the United States Air Force as an operations manager for airport operations and has spent more than five years in emergency and disaster management. Lucas served as the disaster program manager for Central Indiana for more than three years and doubled as the government liaison and community resilience and relationship holder for the American Red Cross in Indianapolis during that time.
Lucas is a passionate speaker and emergency manager and enjoys connecting organizations and communities to help build resiliency and readiness. Lucas currently serves as the emergency preparedness coordinator for the Academic Health Center (AHC), IU Health at Riley Hospital.
Lucas has implemented monthly trainings to ensure readiness and understanding of different disaster themes encompassing all AHC hospital campuses including over 15,000 employees. Lucas is a passionate professional that enjoys helping others become effective and impactful speakers.
