He has taught more than 100 public policy related courses, and has taught in adjunct roles at the University of Illinois at Chicago and at the University of Wisconsin-Madison LaFollette School of Public Affairs.
Before his academic career, Dr. Ehrlich served as a senior analyst for the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO), where he briefed members of Congress, congressional committees, executive agencies, and nongovernmental groups on legislation, policy design, and public management issues. He has authored or coauthored reports related to energy and the environment, innovative policy approaches, transportation finance, airline safety, flight training, health care, occupational safety, federal education assistance, and military weapons systems.
Prior to GAO, Ehrlich served seven years as senior legislative assistant to two high-ranking members of the U.S. Congress: the Chairman of the House Rules Committee and a former U.S. Senator; and a recent Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee and former Chairman of the Joint Tax Committee, Select Committee on Narcotics Abuse and Control, and Congressional Black Caucus. Ehrlich lives in Chicago with his wife and daughter.
