Chris Wayne joined the O’Neill faculty in 2022. A longstanding healthcare administrator with experience in acute hospital and ambulatory settings, physician practices, and the medical diagnostics industry, Wayne has held job titles from manager to vice president to chief operations and strategy officer.
Previously, Wayne has been responsible for operations improvement and strategic partnerships for America’s largest healthcare system. He has been responsible for cancer and cardiovascular service lines and physician practices for over 100 specialty physicians, 500 employees, and over $400M in net revenue.
Wayne is a board-certified fellow with the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) and is board certified with the American College of Medical Practice Executives (CMPE). In 2011, Wayne was a national examiner for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award (MBNQA) and is Lean Healthcare Certified by the University of Michigan College of Engineering.
Wayne earned an undergraduate degree in psychology and sociology, with master’s degrees in business (MBA), managing information technology (MSMIT) and the Administration of Justice (ADJ). He is currently a second-term board member and treasurer of the Hoosier Cancer Research Network (HCRN), an independent nonprofit contract research organization that specializes in early phase oncology clinical trials with over 400 academic and community research sites.
