Support your unpaid internship with the Greater Good Internship Fund
If you contribute your skills—and gain practical work experience—at an unpaid summer internship in the nonprofit, public, or private sectors, the O’Neill Greater Good Internship Fund may be able to help you cover your basic costs.
The O’Neill Greater Good Internship Fund’s objective is to provide O’Neill students the opportunity for career exploration and practical work experience by funding unpaid summer internships in the nonprofit, public, or private sectors that students secure.
Annually, this fund can award up to 25 scholarships of $1,200 each (posted to the student’s bursar account) for students who secure unpaid internships in the nonprofit, public, or private sector lasting a minimum of six weeks or 120 hours. Students will be selected through an application and committee review process.

While it is not a requirement to be considered for Greater Good funds, sharing your internship opportunity with O’Neill Career Hub is the most efficient way to reach O’Neill students. After you have selected a student, encourage your intern to apply for the Greater Good Internship Fund. A review committee will evaluate student applications in mid to late April.
To be considered for Greater Good funds, an employer or organization must be hosting an unpaid internship within the public or nonprofit sectors.
This program would not be possible without the generous support of our alumni and donors. Your gift in support of the O’Neill Greater Good Internship Fund lets O’Neill students at both the master's and undergraduate level to participate in meaningful, life-shaping internships at public, and nonprofit organizations, in the United States and abroad. We also have opportunities to host a student intern.
