The majority of O’Neill School undergraduate and graduate students are required to complete an internship as a part of the experiential learning component of their degree. If you are an Advanced Master’s Program student, you must complete both an undergraduate internship and a graduate internship separately. Students cannot count more than 40 hours per week.
Steps to fulfilling your internship requirement
Your internship approval form MUST be submitted prior to counting any hours toward your internship requirement, per O’Neill policy.

Internship requirement details
Elective credits for undergraduate students
For additional credit hours (beyond the required 1 credit hour for V381/H466) you must request elective internship credit. Each credit added in addition to the 1 credit (120 hours) of V381/H466 will require an additional 80 hours of work. We encourage you to meet with an academic advisor early on to determine if elective credits are needed. All credits will be assessed for tuition on the academic term in which they are registered.
