Curriculum Vitae

Dr. Jill Nicholson-Crotty joined O'Neill's faculty in 2013 after teaching in the Harry S. Truman School of Public Affairs at the University of Missouri. She also served as the director of graduate studies while at the Truman School.

Nicholson-Crotty's research focuses on both public and nonprofit management and the role of those sectors in the policy process. She is one of a limited number of scholars who examine the policy role of traditional charitable organizations. Nicholson-Crotty has written extensively on the motivations for and consequences of lobbying activity among 501(c)(3) charities.

Nicholson-Crotty also has significant expertise in the area of women's and reproductive health. She was the primary investigator on a recent and comprehensive assessment of women's health in Missouri funded by one of the nation's largest health foundations. She has also published numerous papers on the consequences of racial and gender diversity in public organizations. Her work has appeared in top peer-reviewed outlets, including Journal of Public Administration and Theory, Public Administration Review, Nonprofit and Voluntary Studies Quarterly, and the Journal of Politics.
