Alex Alexeev earned a Ph.D. in public affairs from Indiana University in 2010 with specializations in policy analysis and business economics. He also earned a Ph.D. in physics from Odessa National University (Ukraine) in 1996.
Starting in 1997, Alexeev taught physics, modeling, and radioecology for the Department of Physics at Odessa Hydrometerological Institute (currently Odessa State Ecological University). In 2001 he came to the United States to study environmental management and stayed for doctoral study.
Since 2017, Alexeev has been a lecturer at Indiana University where he teaches courses in data analysis and statistical modeling. His research interests are interdisciplinary and include quantitative policy analysis, risk and security modelling, benefit-cost analysis, and environmental economics. From 2014 until 2019 he was a member of the risk-modeling group in the project “Models for Enabling Continuous Reconfigurability of Secure Missions” sponsored by the U.S. ARL Cybersecurity Collaborative Research Alliance (Csec CRA).
