Biography
Scott Segal co-manages the federal government relations and strategic communications practices at Bracewell in Washington, D.C., where he assists clients with effective participation in the legislative and regulatory processes of governmental operations, including environment, energy, trade, and consumer issues. He also helps clients with strategic planning and communications through public affairs initiatives, monitoring, advocacy, and negotiations with the U.S. Congress and federal administrative agencies.
As a frequent spokesman for Fortune 500 corporations, Segal addresses sensitive issues such as climate change, energy legislation and regulation, the Clean Air Act, and fuel additives. He has also educated students about these and other topics, having taught courses in law, policy development, and communications at the University of Maryland (University College) and at Johns Hopkins University. He has also served as director of forensics at the University of Texas at Austin.
Segal earned his B.A. summa cum laude from Emory University and his J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law.
