Biography
Melina Kennedy is CEO of the Central Indiana Corporate Partnership. CICP oversees six initiatives that focus on key sectors of Indiana’s economy and workforce: BioCrossroads (life sciences), AgriNovus Indiana (agriculture), Ascend (workforce development), Conexus Indiana (manufacturing and logistics), Energy Systems Network (energy technology), and TechPoint (technology).
Kennedy has more than 25 years of experience in law, government, and business, including the past decade at Cummins, where she most recently served as vice president – product compliance and regulatory affairs. Prior to that, Kennedy was a partner at the law firm of Baker & Daniels, where she led the firm’s energy, environment, and climate change practice group. Under Indianapolis Mayor Bart Peterson, Kennedy served as director of economic development and deputy mayor for Indianapolis. She was also a judicial law clerk for Justice Frank Sullivan on the Indiana Supreme Court.
Kennedy currently serves as president for Indianapolis’s Capital Improvement board and member of the National Bank of Indianapolis board and Indiana University Health Academic Medical Center board.
Kennedy earned a BA from Indiana University, and an MSES/J.D. from the Indiana University O’Neill School and the Maurer School of Law. At Indiana University, she was on the varsity track and field and cross-country teams.
