BLOOMINGTON and INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Siân Mooney, dean of the Paul H. O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs, has been appointed to the National Science Foundation Social, Behavioral, and Economic Sciences Advisory Committee.
The NSF SBE Advisory Committee meets twice annually to provide advice, recommendations, and oversight to the Directorate for Social, Behavioral, and Economic Sciences concerning support for research, education, and human resources. The advisory committee is a diverse group of leaders from a wide range of social, behavioral, and economic science fields.
“I am honored to join the NSF SBE Advisory Committee,” Mooney said. “This is a critical time for addressing complex societal challenges, and I look forward to collaborating with fellow experts to support research that advances our understanding of human behavior, societal trends, and economic systems. Together, we can help ensure that NSF-funded research continues to make meaningful contributions to science and public policy.”
Mooney’s term on the NSF SBE Advisory Committee will run for three years. She previously served as an NSF program officer and as an NSF representative on the Carbon Cycle Interagency Task Force and Social Science Task Force of the U.S. Global Change Research Program.
