Dr. Ludovic Mayer is an atmospheric and environmental chemist who investigates the occurrence, transport and overall fate of organic contaminants in the outdoor environment. Prior to joining IU in 2025, he was a researcher at RECETOX (Masaryk University, Brno, CZ) where he completed his Ph.D. on the atmospheric fate of current-use pesticides (CUPs). While his main focus was on atmospheric CUPs, he also investigated chemicals (CECs and POPs alike) in other environmental matrices such as soil, deposition and dust.
This experience gave him the opportunity to manage his own research projects, to collaborate and lead interdisciplinary multi-partners teams, and to be recognized as an expert in that field.
