O'Neill Prep Eligibility Criteria

To join O’Neill Prep, you should meet the following criteria:

  • Have a 2.3 or higher cumulative GPA
  • Have earned a 2.0 GPA in your most recent semester
  • Be in good academic standing, if you have 12 or more O’Neill credits in your major GPA (2.7 for Law and Public Policy majors and 2.3 for others)
  • First-year and transfer students who have not yet earned an IU GPA can still request to become an O’Neill Prep student

While these criteria help us identify students who may be able to successfully navigate our academic programs, we understand that each student’s journey is different. We will review your record individually. If you are unsure about your eligibility, set up an appointment with O'Neill Prep advisor Brett Reardon to discuss your path to O'Neill.
