BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Associate Professor Denvil Duncan of the Paul H. O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs has been named an invited researcher for the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) North America, a globally recognized research center working to reduce poverty and improve lives through evidence-based policy solutions.
J-PAL North America, headquartered at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, collaborates with leading researchers and organizations to address some of the most pressing social challenges. As an invited researcher, Duncan will contribute his expertise to designing and evaluating innovative policies that promote economic opportunity and equity.
“Being invited to J-PAL’s network is an honor, as their mission aligns with my commitment to using rigorous, evidence-based methods to address inequality,” Duncan said. “I hope to contribute impactful research, particularly in labor markets and discrimination, that advances J-PAL’s goal of informing policies to reduce racial inequities.”
Duncan’s research employs experimental and quasi-experimental methods to investigate pressing issues in taxation, labor markets, discrimination, and charitable food systems. His insights and collaborative efforts will further J-PAL’s mission of fostering rigorous research and translating findings into actionable policy interventions.
