The MPA-MIA Dual Degree Program

MPA-MIA curriculum
The MPA-MIA is designed to provide you with a thorough understanding of international affairs in theory and practice combined with a robust skillset in public affairs and policy analysis.
The dual degree can be completed in only five semesters and consists of core courses from each program. Plus, you get to choose two concentrations out of the combined 16 total concentrations from the MPA and MIA programs. In place of the MPA Capstone, you will complete INTL-I 500 Practicum in International Policy Analysis.
Degree delivery
The MIA portion of this dual degree is delivered jointly by the top-ranked O’Neill School and the Hamilton Lugar School of Global and International Studies, a leader in language and area studies. This partnership enables access to faculty experts and practitioners in both schools—as well as an expanded global alumni network.

Experiential learning
Gain professional experience through an internship or an independent or group research project. This is a requirement of the MPA program but may be waived with sufficient prior experience or volunteer services such as the Peace Corps, AmeriCorps, or Teach for America.
