Dr. Conrad Pritchard is an environmental engineer within the O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University. His research focuses on the presence and movement of contaminants in the environment. In particular, he studies chemical occurrence, fate, and transport in natural and engineered systems with a focus on mobile, toxic, and persistent contaminants of emerging concern. Dr. Pritchard’s lab uses analytical chemistry techniques including high resolution mass spectrometry to detect and quantify trace organic contaminants in various environmental matrices. His research seeks to improve water quality and protect environmental and human health.
Born and raised in the western suburbs of Chicago, IL, Dr. Pritchard completed his undergraduate studies in environmental engineering at Johns Hopkins University before pursuing his PhD in civil and environmental engineering at Stanford University. Dr. Pritchard completed his postdoc at the Colorado School of Mines before starting at IU in January 2026.
