Updates on our progress
For the 2023-24 academic year:
- Sixteen high school students from five different states participated in the inaugural Rising Leaders Program
- Selected by the Association for Public Policy Analysis and Management (APPAM) to host the Public Policy Camp for Fall 2024 after a competitive proposal process
- Developed programming to enhance the scholarship experience for students
- Held a Scholars Welcome to provide community engagement for O’Neill scholarship recipients
- Undergraduate Program Office staff revised the annual undergraduate student engagement survey to improve the quality of student feedback
During the 2022-23 academic year:
- Created a Leadership Programs unit, unifying current programming including Indiana Leadership Program, NextGen Leadership Program, ServiceCorps, and Civic Leaders Center
- Hired new staff members and student staff to strengthen support for current and future leadership activities
- Worked with Office of Marketing and Communications to create a brand and marketing strategy for the Leadership Initiative
- Formed a Leadership Center taskforce to meet with O’Neill stakeholders
- Compiled recommendations on future programming in and structure of the Leadership Center
- Reviewed our educational portfolio to evaluate opportunities for curriculum updates and potential new courses and/or degrees
- Faculty working groups focused on undergraduate programs and sustainability
- Implemented initiatives to support faculty teaching
- "Teaching tips” discussion during faculty meetings
- Workshops focusing on inclusive teaching practices (See: Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion)
