Biography
Jeff Adams is a Principal Consultant with San Ramon, California-based ENGEO Incorporated. During a geoenvironmental engineering consulting career spanning over 25 years, he has supported several aspects of land and brownfield redevelopment, including environmental assessment, characterization, and remediation projects; environmental health and safety (EHS) studies and documentation; and Geologic Hazard Abatement District (GHAD) formation and consultation. In addition, he has managed and mentored organizational and functional groups, providing leadership in a high-performing organization with a widely admired workplace culture.
Adams’ professional and research interests focus on several policy issues related to the natural and built environment, including housing; energy security/insecurity; sustainability; green and sustainable remediation (GSR); decarbonization; resilient “hard” and “soft” infrastructure solutions; and emerging public/private governance frameworks to mitigate natural disaster-related losses. He has authored and co-authored numerous textbooks, instructional materials, and research papers, which have been presented globally and published in a variety of academic and professional journals.
Adams earned his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois Chicago, his MBA from the Foster School of Business at the University of Washington, and his MPA from the O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University Bloomington.
