Biography
Mark S. Elwood is the Chairman of the Board at Elwood Staffing, one of the largest staffing firms in the U.S., with nearly 900 employees across 33 states. He joined what would become Elwood Staffing—a company founded by his father—in 1987. Mark was named President in 1997 and helped lead the organization through a period of significant growth. In 2003, he assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer and guided Elwood Staffing through a phase of rapid expansion and acquisitions. He transitioned to his current position as Board Chair in 2021.
Beyond his leadership at the company, Mark is deeply committed to community betterment through service and philanthropy. He currently serves as Board Chair of the Landmark Columbus Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to caring for, celebrating, and advancing the cultural heritage of Bartholomew County, Indiana. He and his wife, Wendy, established the Mark and Wendy Elwood Foundation, which supports initiatives in youth development, animal care, mental health, substance abuse prevention, and the arts. In recognition of his contributions to both business and community, he was honored with the Distinguished Undergraduate Alumni Award from the O’Neill School.
Mark earned a Bachelor of Science in Public Affairs from the O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs.
