BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Associate Professor Amanda Rutherford of the Paul H. O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Public Management Research Association.
Rutherford’s central research interests include representation and equity, personnel management, and decision making in public sector organizations. Much of her research is conducted in the context of K-12 and higher education.
“I’m honored to serve on the Board of Directors, and I’m proud to call PMRA my academic home,” Rutherford said. “The association boasts a community of exceptional scholars who are intellectually curious and committed to bettering theory and practice.”
In her role, Rutherford will work to preserve and strengthen the association’s vibrant scholarly network and hopes to foster an inclusive research community that embraces diverse people, places, and rigorous methodological approaches.
“I prioritize advancing high-impact practices focused on the mentorship and development of graduate students and emerging scholars to cultivate the next generation of leaders in our field,” Rutherford said.
The PMRA is a leading organization dedicated to research and scholarship in public management, fostering collaboration and dissemination of knowledge among scholars and practitioners. It improves public governance by advancing research on public organizations, strengthening links among interdisciplinary scholars, and furthering professional and academic opportunities in public management.
