Description of the video:
The McKinney Climate Fellows are an internship where you go and you basically get placed with different non-profit organizations or government organizations around Indiana. So this summer I was placed with the city of Terre Haute and I was working under the Urban Forester. I got to shadow her as she drove around the city and checked on trees. And just like all the knowledge that she gave me through that, that I really couldn't have gotten anywhere else was fantastic. We would be driving down the road and she would point at a tree and she'd be like ah this is the species and this is the scientific name and this is what's wrong with it. So just having that opportunity to see a glimpse into the life of an Urban Forester was really great. And then just all the professional development opportunities of going into the office working as a city official and kind of seeing what that life is was fantastic, along with the fact that through the program we got the opportunity to like talk to a mentor and have GIS training and get professional skills that were going to help us in our future.Three ways to study the environment
