If you choose one of our 12 majors when you apply to Indiana Univeristy Bloomington, you may be considered for direct admission to the O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs. O’Neill Direct Admits have access to resources that will set you up for academic success, including:

  • Priority placement in IU’s Civic Leaders Center
  • Special consideration for O’Neill scholarships

Important Dates

Nov. 1: Apply to IU

The Indiana University Bloomington early action (non-binding) deadline is November 1. Apply by this deadline for highest scholarship consideration, and choose an O'Neill major to be considered for direct admission.

Feb. 1: Apply to be a Civic Leader

To join the Civic Leaders Center, our tight-knit residential community of first-year students passionate about leadership and civic engagement, rank it as your top preference with Residential Programs and Services when the housing application opens on Feb. 1.

Feb. 1: Complete your Scholarship Application

We offer 50+ scholarships opportunities ranging from $1,000 to $9,000 per year.

Feb. 22: Attend Preview Day

Mark your calendar for Saturday, February 22. Meet other admitted students, participate in a mock class, and picture yourself here. More information will be headed your way soon.
