Description of the video:
The MSHM program is made for someone who loves healthcare. Someone that says, "I like serving others, that I'm ready to take the next step and lead people who serve others." What initially sparked my interest in the MSHM program were the courses that I could apply in real time, so literally taking back things that I'm learning in a course the night before to my actual job the next day. In my cohort I had a medic, I had a nurse, I had a pediatric nurse manager; I was able to get their take on what healthcare looks like and some of the issues they're facing. You spend your first week on campus. You do these things that really push you and help you learn your teammates, and then have this great foundation, and then kick off into hard courses with some really great, supportive professors. One of my favorite parts of the MSHM is that they combined Kelley with O'Neill. Having the Kelley piece first built that foundation. The O'Neill side was really the piece where I'm like, "Okay, this is the stuff that I'm literally taking back in real time to my job." It's a perfect matchup. If you have that heart for it, this is a perfect program to go and build leadership skills. I can now sit and be part of those conversations and add value. It's about saying, "Okay, how do I break out of or into the next level?"
