Enrichment Opportunities

Gain experience beyond the classroom

The O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affiars provides opportunities for you to advance your skills, grow your network, and learn to lead outside of the classroom. Whether you want to get involved with the school, the community, our nation’s capital, or the world—we have organizations and enrichment opportunities for you to take what you’ve learned in the classroom and apply it for the greater good while you are still in school.

Opportunities for every degree level

Gain work-related experience and network with your peers and potential employers—while advancing your leadership skills with O’Neill and IU student organizations and other opportunities open to both undergraduate and graduate students. With student organizations, you can get more involved in your field of interest, our school, and our community.

O’Neill Annual Auction and Gala

Every spring, we hold an auction and gala to raise money for O’Neill graduate students’ professional development grants and to help those with unpaid or minimally paid internships. Guests enjoy a cash bar, appetizers, and music while bidding on donated items in the silent or live auction. The event is entirely organized by our graduate students—find out how you can participate under organizations for graduate students.

Description of the video:

00:01
so I heard a quote from President
00:03
McRobbie saying that he would like all
00:06
students to come to I you with the
00:07
passport and while I didn't come to I
00:09
you with the passport i'm leaving with
00:11
11 with multiple stamps from different
00:13
countries one thing I really appreciate
00:15
from my you and about I you is the sense
00:18
of diversity IU has as a freshman I
00:20
lived in foster International Living
00:22
Learning Center or shared a living space
00:24
with a lot of international students and
00:26
it taught me to be culturally
00:28
understanding of individuals not like me
00:31
but it also started a spark in me to see
00:35
the world for myself as well and so I
00:38
continued to get involved with various
00:39
opportunities and student organizations
00:41
on campus but I also began to really
00:44
explore the opportunity and the option
00:46
to study abroad and that's one thing
00:48
that I really appreciate because
00:49
although demographics may say one thing
00:52
I you really tries and aims to be a
00:54
diverse campus and that's one thing that
00:56
I appreciate in love and will always
00:58
chair so much as I prepare for
01:00
graduation
