O'Neill School recognizes 2026 Alumni Award winners

The Paul H. O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs is proud to announce the recipients of its 2026 Alumni Awards. These prestigious honors recognize graduates who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, a commitment to the school’s mission of strengthening communities, and a profound impact on their respective fields.

“Our alumni are the embodiment of the O’Neill School’s values,” said Siân Mooney, dean of the O’Neill School. “This year’s honorees represent the breadth of our impact, from local governance and educational literacy to national defense. We are honored to celebrate their achievements and their continued dedication to the public good.”

Distinguished Graduate Alumni Award:
Brett Seidle, Ph.D.’10

The Distinguished Graduate Alumni Award is the school’s highest honor, recognizing graduates who enhance the reputation of the O’Neill School through professional excellence. Brett Seidle was selected for his dedicated career in national defense leadership. Throughout his years of service, Seidle has advanced innovation, stewardship, and strategic excellence in service to the country. His unwavering commitment to public service and his continued engagement with the O’Neill School reflect the integrity and lasting impact this award is proud to honor. Seidle currently serves as the acting assistant secretary of the Navy for research, development, and acquisition while also performing the duties of the under secretary of the Navy.

O’Neill Indianapolis Distinguished Alumni Award:
Roberta Jaggers, MPA’03

Roberta Jaggers is celebrated for her transformative leadership in advancing literacy and educational opportunities. Through her work, she has strengthened access to knowledge and enriched communities across Indianapolis. Her steadfast commitment to philanthropy and public service reflects the civic engagement and community impact that the O’Neill School is proud to honor. Jaggers is president of the Indianapolis Public Library Foundation.

Early Impact Award:
Chase Bruton, MPA’18

Chase Bruton has been recognized with the Early Impact Award for his exemplary leadership in local government. As town manager of Yorktown, Indiana, Bruton has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to strengthening communities through thoughtful governance and strategic vision. His dedication to public service and his continued investment in developing future leaders reflect the core values of the O’Neill School and exemplify the impact this award is meant to honor.
