I want to thank you all for your dedication to the O'Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs. It has been an honor to serve as the president of the O'Neill Alumni Board for the past three years. We have achieved some great things over the past few years and we have the momentum to do even more to support our alumni and students in the future.
The alumni board helped to establish the O'Neill Women's Summit, increased mentoring opportunities between O'Neill alumni and students, recruited board members to better represent the diversity of our alumni, added a fifth O'Neill Alumni Association scholarship, and created the O'Neill Future Fund as a tribute to the school's 50th anniversary in 2022.
With all we have achieved there is still much to do for O'Neill and all our stakeholders. We continue to raise funds to support our scholarship with the goal of raising enough for a sixth scholarship. You can help support our incredibly talented students at both O'Neill Bloomington and O'Neill IUPUI by donating online. Also, we continue to make the O'Neill Future Fund a priority to celebrate 50 years and support the next 50 years. We have currently raised $19,970 and we hope to reach our goal of $50,000 in 2022. You can learn more in this short video and donate here.
I know the pandemic and economy have presented a great challenge to many of us, but I ask that as you consider your end of year giving you think about supporting these O'Neill initiatives that will help support those who wish to Lead for the Greater Good and Major in Making a Difference.
Finally, as I transition from my role on the O'Neill Alumni Board I want to welcome our new president, Brian Guse (MPA'95), and our executive committee, Vice President John Zody (BSPA'01, MPA'13) and Secretary/Treasurer Jennifer Ruby (Master of Planning '96). They are a tremendously talented group who will do great work representing our alumni.
As we look to close out 2020, I wish you and your families health and happiness. Stay safe and go IU!
