Paul Jackson



The National Academies is comprised of the National Academy of Sciences, the National Academy of Engineering, the Institute of Medicine, and the National Research Council. The Academies provide independent, objective advice on issues that affect people's lives worldwide. As study director, Jackson develops statement of tasks for study issues, forms a study committee of experts, contributes to and edits the committee's report, sends the report for peer review, releases it to the sponsoring agency, and then releases it to the public. He is currently working with committees on topics ranging from the deflection of asteroids approaching earth to the revitalization of state economies.
